Kaast Machine Tools has released the V-Mill 600.5X, a 5-axis CNC vertical machining centre, which has a gantry structure comprising a base frame, double racks, and crossbeam to help ensure rigidity and cutting performance.

This model also employs cooled ball screws, linear roller guides, and a high-speed spindle with ceramic bearings. The worktable diameter is 23 in., and it can support up to 880 lbs.

It has a T-shaped machine structure with matching column base width, and the table is independently installed on the base to be fully supported through the entire stroke. The structural components are manufactured from cast iron, then stress-relieved and heat-treated for deformation-free performance.

A 30-tool magazine is a standard feature. It can accommodate BT-40 shanks and includes a cam drive that achieves ±0.0032-in. positioning accuracy. According to the builder, tool changing happens in a fast, smooth, stable motion and the tool change arm is waterproof, which prevents coolant from entering the arm during use.

An optional pallet changer is available.
